Lepista nuda

Lepista nuda

Sylvan 4102 is a very successful strain that has been a market leader for many years. Lepista nuda is most often grown in the autumn when ambient temperatures are suitable for cultivation.

Grow on pasteurized Agaricus compost rather than on Pleurotus substrate. It is very sensitive when compost Ammonium levels are above 500 ppm at spawning. The stem is violet/blue at base giving it its name “Pied blue” or “Blue feet’. It is most commonly grown at the back of a mushroom house and left to grow naturally. Cropping begins approximately 12-14 weeks from spawning. There are no distinct flushes and mushrooms are generally picked over a 10-12-week period.
